Tibet or Not Tibet? That is the Question!
Tibet or Not Tibet? That is the Question!
There is no legal basis, just a few questionable historical incidents, to justify China taking over Tibet and causing untold suffering, bloodshed, and death.

The actual reason was simply greed. Even today, the Chinese struggle with massive corruption and 50 years ago, it was even worse.
Thousands of Buddhist Temples were looted and destroyed, the massive forests were clear-cut and the land given over to Chinese farmers.
Three quarters of all the water in Asia comes over the Tibetan plateau and the country that controls the water controls the continent.

It is not worth listening to a single accusation, argument or justification by the Chinese since they are powerful enough militarily to do as they wish in Tibet.
They are so powerful economically that there is not one single Western nation that would chance more than a show of disagreement with their human rights record so China is free to do as it wishes.
The Dalai Lama knows that this is true.
The Dalai Lama knows that the behavior of the Chinese is what every nation and every human being is capable of. But he also knows that human beings are capable of rising to greater spiritual heights and that for the Chinese and Tibetans who are committing harmful acts, there will come a day of reckoning.

The Dalai Lama knows that the Chinese are caught in their own trap, having to endlessly justify, explain and deny their guilt, just as the Tibetans are caught in theirs.
In the spiritual world, there's no free lunch and we all end up paying ourselves back for our actions.
The best thing for you to do is be the other guy, and being him, change your mind.
Yes, you got it. Be the other guy and while being him, have a change of mind.
Long live the human spirit, let there be an end to all suffering and may all creatures treat each other with dignity and respect.
