The hotel is on a golf course. The whole surrounding area is quite breathtaking and we just loved the whole town. It has a very old fashioned feel to it; small privately owned shops and pubs, neat gardens, lots of personal touches. It reminded me of the Hobbit land in The Lord of The Rings. Just so cozy!
The hotel was very simple, but so very neat. We enjoyed it a lot more than any of the Hiltons and Sheratons we've stayed at. Nice warm rooms, with bathrooms, electric kettle, TV, and all those standard amenities, but lots of personal touches.
I can’t remember exactly, but I am pretty sure there was a spa downstairs and it was wonderful! You'll have to forgive me, but we've stayed in so many hotels in so many countries that sometimes I get mixed up about what was where.
The restaurants of this hotel were also great, they had everything from simple to fancy food.
Just writing about it makes me want to be there. This is the hotel where Geoff and I started dating. After one day, he asked me to marry him. I did.
